Still, it's about time I set of for today's lessons - an hours drive away, and it's been snowing again. And minus 7C, I'v heard. Great little country, Holland, only it ought to have a roof and central heating.
In the meantime, I've had great fun creating a collage of pictures based on my interests. You can make your own here. Simply give your username and they give a collage, and then the fun part starts: choosing which pictures you like best.

Date: 2010-02-10 03:30 pm (UTC)Pratchet is a fantasy-writer. The picture in question is based on one of his books that star Death. A great (albeit thinnish) chap who can wield a scythe like nobody's business, and who tries to develop a sense of humour, too. And he has a marvelous SEPULCHRAL, INSTANTLY RECOGNIZABLE voice.
In one of the books he has to save the world, so he mounts his pale horse (called Binky) and looks up his cronies from way back when the Horsemen were still going strong. Unfortunately, War is now married and Mrs War doesn't hold with riding, Pestilence prefers the quiet life and Famine would rather play a round of cards...
In short, the four Horseman of the Apocalypse, Discworld-style.

Date: 2010-02-10 08:08 pm (UTC)Anyhow, the 3 books starring Death are: Mort, Reaper Man, and Hogfather. All three are excellent reads. Make you quite look forward to meeting Death. If only one could do that just for drinks...

*rofl* It's snowing over here again, too, with about the same temperature. And the snow stays down *sigh*.

Date: 2010-02-10 11:16 am (UTC)I am still totally amazed about the shot of WGP, never seen that one before (might have been better though *gg*, but small as it is one doesn't really get too much of a picture still...)

Date: 2010-02-10 03:34 pm (UTC)Personally, if I could cast Grubbly-Plank - but I promised not to make any profit from my stories, so ... - I'd want Dame Judi.
She's my idea of Willa. Need I say that I'd keep the Minerva-casting as it is?

Date: 2010-02-10 04:31 pm (UTC)Ha! Just what I'd wish for my whole state. Despite the insane blizzard conditions here, our school resolutely stays open, since much of the student population is residential. It took me nearly an hour to make my usual 15-minute drive to school today. I plan to spend the night right here in my office; no way am I going to try to get home again. I'm hoping I might be able to persuade the dean to let me stay in his -- he has a sofa. But he might not feel comfortable with that, what with the confidential stuff in his files. Well, it won't be the first time I've slept with my head on the desk. (If I can get my car out of the parking lot, I may go to a friend's who lives near campus.) I hope your snowy drive goes well.
Great collage. I liked that "Fanfiction" option myself, but it kept getting covered up by whatever was next to it, so I didn't pick it. I love your Dench choice, and Minerva, too.

Date: 2010-02-10 08:02 pm (UTC)I hope you either make it to the Dean's sofa or, preferably, to the friend's house. Sleeping with your head on the desk - the mere thought makes me ache with discomfort. You're amazingly Gryffindor about it. That Minerva picture on your door really is quite appropriate.
Not that it'll do any good, but I'll send warm, comforting thoughts like mad tonight and tomorrow. I just hope you don't have too many classes. Wish I could Floo some sherry-laced pumpkin soup or a good cake. But then, if I could Floo, I could just send you a nice four-poster. Heck, I could throw in Willa for good measure.
I'll be thinking of you, my friend!

I hope you are staying warm,
