You may have noticed that food played a fairly important part in the Orlando posts. And, indeed, quite a bit of the time was spent buying, preparing, and eating glorious feasts. We also talked about it a lot.

At some point I was listening to Bear and Lash discussing traditional American dishes, and I practically felt like taking notes. I begged them for the recipes, or a foodblog, or whatever.

And then we all had a brainwave. A brand-new food com! For, as Bear said, "The OLSB spreads over so many countries, and they all have their own food and recipes. This could really get interesting."

Well, as of this morning, the new com is in place. [livejournal.com profile] redbeargrl really is that efficient. It looks great, and we'll all start posting soon.

So whether you're a cook or a foodie or both, join the OLSB Recipe Repository at [livejournal.com profile] olsb_recipies. (Ask us no questions about the additional 'i' in 'recipies', and we'll tell you no lies.)

Now, hop over, all of you, and join [livejournal.com profile] olsb_recipies. Another great way to have fun together.

Great idea - and just the right season to think about food :-)

Btw., you still did not find a chance to try my fluffy hazelnut-cake, did you....? Do you have the recipe in a place from where you could post it - I don't think, I have.... I would have to start translating and typing anew....

What a splendid idea! I'm quite busy currently and faaar behind with reading, commenting, and reviewing, but I'll join right away and will try to snatch a pic of the lovely poppy seed yeast whatevers I baked yesterday, before the WW gets to them.
Great to have you back safe and sound, btw, and I'm happy you had such a wonderful time! I will get all your lovely entries later.

Sounds delicious. Count me in.

(The above appears to be the only food-related icon I have. Shall have to remedy that.)

food-related icon Well, at least it's not the brightly-colours peeps. I plan to do some food-icon hunting myself, though. Roxicon usually has great stuff.

And lovely to have you on board.

Will post the empanadas later today . . . if you ever want to make them and can't find a spare plane ticket to park yourself at my table. *g*

I'd get me a bright, shiny, new plane ticket. Time's the only problem. So in the meantime, we'll look at the recipe and remember that we lived in Arcadia once.
