Happy Birthday, Dear Albalark!
Sep. 17th, 2012 12:11 pm"Severus! Good to see you!"
"TRS. Now, what do you want?"
"There, there, Severus. Can't I greet a friend without needing something from him?"
"No, I don't think you can, actually."
"You may be right. I'm a Slytherin, after all, and ..."
"TRS, you may spend a few months at Hogwarts each year for that party of yours, but you were never Sorted. For a good reason."
"Slytherin, as we both know, is a state of mind rather than the innate ability to draw sparks from a phallic symbol."
"An ability you clearly don't have."
"Let's just say I don't mess around with symbols. But yes, there is something I wanted to talk about. It's
albalark's birthday, today."
"So it is. Observe the long-stemmed red roses I'm carrying."
"I was rather observing the darling fluffy bear. What on earth ...?"
"That is a gift for Miss M."
"For Miss M? Severus, are you quite sure Miss M will like it? She's ..."
"Of course she won't like it. Miss M is rapidly turning into an interesting young lady with discerning taste. Remember last year's Halloween dress?"
"Of course! Elegant lines, the white-and-blue, so fitting for a young girl, and then she accessorized with that fabulous knife! Now that's what I call style. Too bad Lark forbade the knife."
"For once I agree, TRS. Without the knife Miss M looked like that dunderhead."
"Which dunderhead would this be, Severus?"
"You know - the idiot child who swallows a potion just because the label tells her, "drink this". Not at all the mentality we wish for our Miss M. But this year's dress is even better, I think."
"Absolutely. The same elegant lines - she has her own style already, clever thing - and the nails make an even stronger statement. And, of course ..."
"The colour. Slytherin green. That great-niece of yours is definitely making all the right choices, isn't she? So yes, she'll hate the teddy. I didn't chose it to please her. You see, the woman I'm interested in is Lark. She still sees Miss M as her little girl, so this gift to the child ..."
"Will charm the mother? Severus, how perfectly devious."
"Thank you."
"But, of course, ultmately it isn't Lark, the mother, you're after. You want to reach Lark, the woman. You want to send shivers down her spine. You want to her visualise. Have her gasp in pleasurable anticipation. You want her to fantazise about slowly, lingeringly reaching up to ... because she'll know what's under ..."
"Obviously. No need to turn this into a PWP."
"P it may be, but WP it isn't. See, this is where I come in. I know Lark. We had quite a few woman-to-woman chats. I know exactly what turns her on - and I'm willing to share the information."
"Which brings us back to where we started: what's in it for you?"
"Well, you'll need my Muggle internet skills to get your gift to Lark. So I thought I could join my congratulations to yours. Let some of your glory reflect on me. It'll be a win-win situation."
"The words win-win situation coming from you send shivers down my spine. And not in a good way."
"Trust me, Severus. Put yourself in my hands - now, there's no need to reach for your wand! Lark will love our little surprise. Who knows - you might even enjoy yourself."
Happy Birthday, dear Albalark, from Severus Snape and TRS.

Date: 2012-09-17 01:11 pm (UTC)Oh, the two of you have outdone yourselves! If I didn't know better, I would suspect my sweet TRS of using an Unforgivable to accomplish this. Turn around, Severus, so that I can properly admire you. Stop rolling your eyes, darling, you *know* you're enjoying the, um, appreciation. . . . very nice indeed! The spats are just the right touch. *g* What? Oh stop pouting and let me give both of you a hug and a smooch for being so good to me.
::smooches and hugs TRS and Severus and admires the breacan::
You're amazing, both of you, and I love the roses and the teddy. Miss M will adore the bear, I am sure, even if she'd prefer a large scythe these days. ::shakes head over child's taste in accoutrements:: Nevertheless, she still appreciates fuzzy gifts. Speaking of which - ::waggles eyebrows:: - perhaps we can meet up later and make certain you're wearing that kilt properly. I mean, correct Highland dress is a bit like old-fashioned wizards robes in that there should be a healthy breeze around - . Stop that grinning, TRS. I just want to make sure he's wearing it properly, that's all. Right. Well. I've got work to do, so I'll see you both for cake later.
::goes off to the lab humming 'Happy Birthday to me!'::
And thank you very much to the incredibly talented Sigune for lending TRS her creation - he's adorable!

Date: 2012-09-18 01:14 pm (UTC)And I always admire this style of drawing: clean and simple, with watercolours feel to it. Also, the longer I am in fandom (and in the presence of those who love SS), the more I appreciate art that portrays him as an impatient and frustrated young man instead of the calm and collectedly vicious Rickman-like middle-aged and not-so-skinny character most shippers see when they envision him ever since the movies started. Do tell Sigune it's a brilliant picture, please?
