minerva_fest.
As always there were many great stories, and the greatest delight is, of course, a month in which we get a Minerva story every day. If you haven't read everything yet, here's some things you shouldn't miss.
First two lovely pieces of art. One gen, Minerva at Madam Malkin's shop, asking Severus's opinion. Don't know about him, but I think she looks truly stunning and the dress is wonderful.
What do you think?.
And then a Minerva/Poppy! One of my favourite pairings, and the one that got me into the fandom. An exquisite drawing of two women who are not young nor pretty. They're beautiful. The setting, the expressions, the bodies ... go and have a look at Off-Season. It's NWS, though, so wait till you have some privacy.
Then there's the opening story. A great gen fic about the various battles in Minerva's life. Each section is beautifully written and especially Minerva's last battle is a scene of great beauty and insight. Connect the Stars.
And of course, one of the greatest highlights of the fest, the wonderfully-written and wonderfully-plotted Exotic Matter. It's a superb take on the Time-Turner and Hermione is a great supporting character.

purplefluffycat wrote a Halloween story starring Horace Slughorn and Albus Dumbledore, and it's written with all of her usual expertise.
One can smell the Halloween Fair in Hogsmeade, and the description of the more adult pleasures during the evening is just enough to set your imagination at work. There's a cameo of Galatea, and the two brief scenes she gets make me wish for a full-length story with this character.
Filius Flitwick plays a very IC part as 'the diminutive thrill-seeker' who convinces Horace that rollercoasters are a good idea, and I've never identified so totally with a fictional character as I did with Horace in this story.
It is as if I have stood in Hogsmeade myself with a diminutive thrill-seeker by my side, convincing me that yes, I would enjoy the ride. Horace, my friend, I totally know how you felt.
