Day 14 Thoughts on fanart (+ A favorite fanart).

In terms of fanart, there are so many fabulous things going on, it's hard to choose.

There are several excellent iconmakers and photo-manips out there. The magnificent just_magss, who also works under the names Irrbis and Sever_Snape is one of my favourites. Her Deviant art gallery is here, and she created the manip for the icon in this post. And have a look at this one. Just take a stroll through her journal. A delight.

Then there's the kind of art that captures a character just so. sigune is a case in point. The Marksman is one of my favourites. I tried to link directly here. If it doesn't work, choose 'gallery' in the menu bar and go to page 4. Bottom row. And I'll thank you for not mentioning recent events in South Africa.

The third category makes me want to write the story behind the art here and now. Have a look at Wilhelmina and ... Aberforth. The incredible blue of his eyes, her hair, the laughter, the easy pleasure they take in each other's company. And the logic of it. Willa and Aberforth. Yes, that could work. (But I'm writing for the minerva_fest right now. Well, not literally 'right now', but I'm nearing 4K and I'm calling it a day.)

Fic: The White Team versus Orange

Title: The White Team versus Orange.

Recipient : To the winner of HP_Worldcup_Bets on Dreamwidth, tetleythesecond, for outstanding knowledge of every aspect of football. With a tip of the wand to kellychambliss, for remarkable Legilimency in the NY subway.

No warnings : Just three good reasons not to click on the LJ- cut.

It isn’t beta’ed. I’ve the best betas in the world, but in this case they’re also the recipients.

It’s too long. 500 words of starched, white uniforms with, perhaps, a bit of Quill-tickling thrown in was what Tetley hoped for. 3k of waffling and a second-hand neck rub is what she gets. Ah, well. It’s an imperfect world we live in. If it weren’t, Holland would have beaten Germany in the finals.

And it’s OOC verging on the crack, but I’m not to blame. Tetley started it, Miss, she wanted to play at Role Reversal. And then it all just … happened. Liek whoah.
