Congratulations on your birthday, dear
pale_moonlite! As you'll find out during the day, some of us decided to mark the occasion for you.
Alas, unlike the talented flist, I couldn't come up with a single Remus-oriented thing. Except for one totally crack idea, but then I checked and it was another user with 'moon' in her name who has Terry Pratchett on her interest list.
So allow me to do just the catering for today. I'm sure someone else will bring the bubbly, and we'll have a grand time.
Here's a very easy, very quick recipe that'll give you some wonderful muffins. I often make them when I want instant comfort food, and as muffins are portioned already, you can take one (or several) at each new post that arrives for you. Also, it makes the house smell good, and they contain blueberries, so they're practically a health food despite the chocolate.
Preparation: 15 minutes
Baking: 25 minutes
Makes 6 muffins.
150 g plain flour mixed with
50 g golden caster sugar,
½ tsp baking powder and
a pinch of salt
1 egg , beaten
50 g butter , melted and cooled
100 ml milk
75 g blueberries
75 g white chocolate , chopped into chunks
Heat the oven to 200C/fan 180C/gas 6 and line a 6-hole muffin tin with paper cases.
[Or just butter it very well, if it's the non-stick kind that'll work too. If you don't have a muffin tin, buy the paper cases (for fairy cakes) and put 3 or 4 together, that'll be enough to keep the dough more or less in shape.]
Mix the egg, melted butter and milk quickly into the dry ingredients with the blueberries and chocolate (don't overmix, it should be a bit lumpy). Divide between the cases and bake for 25 minutes until risen and golden and cooked through.
[Blueberries freeze well so you can keep the rest in the freezer].

Of that I'm sure. *g*
May I offer you a little cocktail? (What do you like? Fruity? Creamy? Coconut-y? With or without alcohol?)

The muffins sound great - I love blueberry muffins, but with the addition of white chocoloate... yay!
Does any of you have, by any chance, some pretty gift wrapping paper for me? ;o)
