About the pic: I am sooo glad our big food-discounter had a Dutch week recently - I stocked up on Stroop-Waffles :-) And everytime I eat one I do remember the afternoon at Tetley's with almost half the flist :-).

Aren't those foreign weeks of the Lidl great? Whenever they have French week, I drop everything to stock up on flammekuechen! We just had the last one today. And their Spanish week is great, too.

Our Polish tour guide said they call Lidl the "German embassy" *g*. I love their international offers, too, especially since it's not just an advertising stint but they really carry special local products just then.

It's tiny little pancakes, and they're even more addictive than stroopwafels. The lady in the front of the pic is ladling the batter into a special pan (https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poffertjespan).

Tetley is an expert at making them. That's what happens when you live next to windmill country ...

Thank you, my dear! Poffertjes are indeed fantastic, but TRS is doing me too much honour. I merely managed to improve the centuries-old design on my first go by ladling the dough in so sloppily that the pancakes ended up having little handles by which one could grip them with a fork. *g*
