Looking for a Clever Flisty

Dears,

I have two images that are gifs. And I'd love to have two words added to those images, but I don't know how to get words into gifs.

ETA They are moving gifs, I just learned that that's important.

Is there anyone willing and able who can help me with this? Ideally before September the 1st? Sorry for being so horribly late about this.

I'm not going to spell out what I need it for, not yet, but yes, the icon is a hint.

If it's just word on images, no problems, I can do it right away. If it's more it's depending on my simple grafic prog which has not all options I would like it to.

I got them, but I'm afraid I can't help you after all. These are moving gifs, and this is one of the things my program is unable to work at, as you need a program which can split up the gif into the original image layers it consists of and change these, or so I understand. I'm sorry!

I may have the same software as the Winterwitch so it might not work, but I just checked with a moving gif I once made, and the Mac Preview shows me the individual gifs. Preview also lets you add words, nothing too fancy but it works fine.

I haven't checked yet if I can do it (I think getting the font in the same position in every image should suffice), but I'd give it a try if you send me the gif.

Note to other flisties: we need someone better equipped than me ... Preview gave me the separate images but didn't cooperate with the editing thereof.

I just used the Mac Preview (I think that's what it's called in English - it's the default thingy that opens images). It gave me the different gifs but wouldn't let me save edits thereto. My hunch is that one would have to save the images separately and then build them back together with an animated gif maker, which I no longer have after the trial ran out. But I could also be wrong and just pants at this ...

Sounds about right, because that's how you build gifs.

Oh, thanks for the link! This certainly will come in handy. I'm trying to get the hang of Gimp but never find the leisure, and still make do with the simple software my long outdated scanner came with.

I'm just such a complete technical idiot. The picmonkey . com website is about as clever as I get with images. But I'm so glad you're trying.

I'm going to be off-line till tomorrow, because Lord S returns today after a 5-day sailing trip, so a bit of quality time over a good dinner is in order. But I'll check my mail account first thing tomorrow, and if you need more time there's absolutely no rush! I mean, it's not as if I expect results tomorrow. I just will be off line till then.
