PS -- This does not mean that Isobel's second cousin thrice removed, Amelia Crawley, who has a doctoral degree in Law and wears a shirtwaist and necktie and monocle, and who comes to Downton to look at loopholes in the entail (out of principle, not because she thinks young women wouldn't be better advised to be professionals rather than heiresses), wouldn't succeed if she had her short-haired head set on getting Isobel off this asceticism thing.
