First, the recs. The marvellous [livejournal.com profile] hp_friendship is doling out winner after winner. But two stories struck me especially.

A Bit o' Magic tells the friendship between Mrs Norris and Argus Filch. Filch is beautifully rounded, hogs and warts and all. Mrs Norris is all one expects of her. (It was Irma Pince who chose the name, btw.) And there's a Minerva/Wilhelmina in the background that's great, too.
Warning: do keep a box of Kleenex handy.

And then there's Mad Dogs and Scotsmen. Emmeline Vance is the only friend really suited (for a given definition of 'suited') to take in Moody after the Trunk Thing. The whole description of their friendship is a delight. This is canon Emmeline Vance from now on.
Warning: you might fancy a curry afterwards.

And then, once again, the Old Lady Smut Brigade won the day! Stories about old ladies having very full lives once again won awards at [livejournal.com profile] hpfanficfanpoll. Congratulations to [livejournal.com profile] kellychambliss, [livejournal.com profile] pale_moonlite, [livejournal.com profile] lash_larue, [livejournal.com profile] squibstress, and Dueltastic.

A few stats: Minerva won Best Heroine and managed to pull 5 times. Rolanda came second (3 stories), Narcissa and Amelia both managed a decent 2, and Molly, Petunia, and Millicent (youngish for a Crone, but one to watch) each once.

How absolutely jolly of you!

We'll celebrate with a night party - eggs, tomatoes, ham, and, as you say, lashings and lashings of gingerbeer.

Thank you so much! I still can't believe I won best plot and best smut - me, the plot-challenged mild-R writer.

I think the smut must be instinct - Lord S is a fortunate individual.

The story is marvelous, kudos on a well deserved award!

Congratulations on a well-deserved win.

Also, kudos to all the others mentioned above. Those stories (at least the ones I read - which aren't all) are also really really well written and deserve their prizes.

Thanks! And I so enjoyed seeing "As You Say" up there. Such a marvellous tale, and that chauffeur is one of my favourite OC's ever.
