The to-do list continues to decrease merrily, and I think Professor Perry should have a Nobel prize as well as an Ignobel.
Peace suggests itself. If only great leaders would put 'start civil war' or 'start religious war' on top of their list, and followed it by 'improve infrastructure', 'set up health clinics', and 'find budget for independent research', this world would be a better place.

Well, I've the fic-writing to tackle today, so I'll procrastinate briefly here.

The very talented [livejournal.com profile] pyttan is working on a longish project: a series of seven Filius Flitwick stories. There will be a story for each of the seven books, and so far two of them are written. Well, comments are the breath of life for an author, as you all know, and here's your chance to procrastinate for the Greater Good: go and read these two wonderful stories and leave the author lots of love. That way we may get the other five.

The first two installments in The Filius Files are absolute delights.

Set during CS: Duelling Champion . Wonderful cameos of the whole staff, and a Latin saying that must find its way to an icon *updates to-do list*.

Set during OotP: A Theoretical Approach to Teaching. It contains a description of innovative, scholarly teaching that will gladden your heart. And a great description of Hogwarts staff room. And a Minerva cameo to die for - I've already tried to convince the author that this backstory must be written, but I was given to understand that there are technical difficulties.

Oh, and there's an interesting visualisation. By Professor Flitwick himself. That man's mind must command everyone's respect.

Darlin girl - thank you SO much for steering us to these wonderful stories. Pyttan is BRILLIANT in her portrayals of those quiet conversations that have such far-reaching effect !!

Oh, I'm excited! I'm a great fan of Filius! Us little ones have to stick together and all; we make a bigger (as in taller) impression that way, when by standing next to each other we somehow make each other look less not-tall.

Can't wait to read these!
