[personal profile] miss_morland has a lot to answer for with that meme. The initial glow of 'how wonderful, someone tagged me' has its downsides. A fic and a fest and a few interesting requests. And no time. And just one internet connection for two addicts, both full time at home.  And so far just one beer on offer ...

Well, here goes:

On Being, in the Company of Others, by [livejournal.com profile] imochan .
Published on LJ, a stunning fic with parts of Snape's diary. His voice in this story is just so, and there's not a word out of place.

The next fics can all be found on FF Net.

All I Have to Do - MyMadness.
A SS/HG. The first chapters may take a bit of getting used to; the plot is ... surprising, to say the least. But Mymadness does address the issues involved in a student / teacher relationship, her Snape is wonderfully believable and it contains a Minerva/Moody sideline to die for.

Transposition - [livejournal.com profile] shadowycat
Remus practises his charmwork. Sev and Min find the results utterly uncharming. Laugh out loud funny. A favourite re-read on an off-day.

I Dream of Plagiarism - Cat Feral
Again, a scream. It seems that the Hogwarts teachers dream of our fanfic. In the sense of: this is really happening to me. Go on, read it, laugh, see whether you're guilty of one of the atrocities ...

Not Just Any - [livejournal.com profile] kellychambliss .
Love it - it's great. But most of you know that already.
Hate it - am struggling with SeverusBigBang (small bang for me) and will never manage anything half as good.

Oh, I love all of these (not counting my own, of course, but thank you for mentioning it /g/). "On Being" is just breathtaking; "All I Have to Do" is clever and complex and has Minerva/Moody; "Transposition" is another of my favorite body-switch fics (now joined by [livejournal.com profile] tetleythesecond's "Switchcraft) AND it has Minerva with a tattoo; "Plagiarism" has one of my favorite lines ever, about just why it is that Albus has a flaming phoenix as a pet.

So glad you got this tag and request. Now, don't you have some fests to be signing up for?

Tetley's story is a marvel! And that poignant cameo of Hooch: imagine accidentally ...erm... embracing Umbridge. And being seen to do so by all of your colleagues. And never living it down.
And the Phoenix line is great, too. My personal favourite is when Snape complains that he wouldn't touch that flea-ridden werewolf ... I can just see Rickman say that.

Currently, I must be off, Tetley has tagged me in return, and I have a historical event to describe. And I signed up for the Snapelyholidays yesterday. Vowing that I would not be persuaded again. Still. You can be so very convincing ...

And if I'm allowed to barge in, I'm so glad you both drew my attention at shadowycat's "Transposition" with this post and comments. Pure hilarity; I adore the characterisation and the tattoo and Sybill and Remus and the shoe thing and Peeves and everything!
I loved "Not Just Any", too. Best opening line ever, best name for an institute of higher education.
So that means I'll definitely look at the other three fics, too.

Excellent! I went to look at your sign-up, but it's not on the comm. I'm guessing you just wrote to the mods directly?

Most of the prompts look interesting, but there's one that I really, really hope I do not get!! Sap-fic all the way. I don't think I'd be able to write to any of the person's requests. I'd almost rather do Snarry. (almost) But assuming we both avoid that one, it should be a fun fest.

You won't be sorry. And thanks for the kind words about "Not Just Any."

I just know [livejournal.com profile] shadowycat 's Transposition yet, as she is one of my favourite authors at FF.net, where I roam much longer already (I translated her Headmaster Snape into German;
so Thank you for the other recommendations...
I am curious how this comment will come up +gg*

Beautifully.
Transposition was kursiv,
thank you was bold,
and the last line was a lovely strike-through.
I'll have a look at the Headmaster Snape story, then.
