Who could resist ...

[livejournal.com profile] kellychambliss, the undisputed queen of procrastination, found another delectable meme for when you don't want to shower, breakfast, collect students' materials, and generally get on with life. And one of the disadvantages of being self-employed is that even these things can be procrastinated over, occasionally.

Still, it's about time I set of for today's lessons - an hours drive away, and it's been snowing again. And minus 7C, I'v heard. Great little country, Holland, only it ought to have a roof and central heating.

In the meantime, I've had great fun creating a collage of pictures based on my interests. You can make your own here. Simply give your username and they give a collage, and then the fun part starts: choosing which pictures you like best.

Ha! Just what I'd wish for my whole state. Despite the insane blizzard conditions here, our school resolutely stays open, since much of the student population is residential. It took me nearly an hour to make my usual 15-minute drive to school today. I plan to spend the night right here in my office; no way am I going to try to get home again. I'm hoping I might be able to persuade the dean to let me stay in his -- he has a sofa. But he might not feel comfortable with that, what with the confidential stuff in his files. Well, it won't be the first time I've slept with my head on the desk. (If I can get my car out of the parking lot, I may go to a friend's who lives near campus.) I hope your snowy drive goes well.

Great collage. I liked that "Fanfiction" option myself, but it kept getting covered up by whatever was next to it, so I didn't pick it. I love your Dench choice, and Minerva, too.

Poor Kelly, how absolutely ghastly! Here the snow is practically gone, but this morning they said on the news that the east of the US, Washington and NYC particularly, would get another 16 inches or so. I was already worried about you, but this really is the pits.
I hope you either make it to the Dean's sofa or, preferably, to the friend's house. Sleeping with your head on the desk - the mere thought makes me ache with discomfort. You're amazingly Gryffindor about it. That Minerva picture on your door really is quite appropriate.
Not that it'll do any good, but I'll send warm, comforting thoughts like mad tonight and tomorrow. I just hope you don't have too many classes. Wish I could Floo some sherry-laced pumpkin soup or a good cake. But then, if I could Floo, I could just send you a nice four-poster. Heck, I could throw in Willa for good measure.
I'll be thinking of you, my friend!

No desk-sleeping after all! I've made it to my friend's house. I could probably have made it home, too, since the snow stopped for the last couple of hours, and the roads are probably all right. But I just have to come back to campus tomorrow anyway, and the break in the weather is supposed to be only temporary, so I think it's wiser not to take the chance. (Not that I wouldn't have preferred pumpkin soup, cake, and Willa, but one takes what one can get. Btw, my partner made the "pumpkin" soup again last week, she says, but she used butternut squash instead of pumpkin, the squash being easier for her to get fresh this time of year. She said it was quite tasty.)

Thanks for your good wishes!
