Day 2 Favourite book
Day 3 Least favorite book
Day 4 Favorite female character
Day 5 Favorite male character.
Day 6 Least favorite female character
Day 7 Least favorite male character

> Day 8 Thoughts on fanfic.

As a reader, I love it because it's such an excellent remedy against The Last Page Blues.

As a writer, I love the possibilities of that endless, ready made tapestry against which to set our stories. There's the intertextuality between the books and fanfics, and between the fanfics themselves.
And the option to improve on the original! Snape dead? Sez who?

And the best bit of all: the fanficcers! It's the sheer fun of booting up the PC in the morning and checking what everyone has been up to, and OBLIVIATE!

Allow me to elaborate slightly on the icon-text.  I'm honoured to see that my untimely demise was too painful to contemplate, and I've spent many a happy hour reading your inspired and often entertaining tales. I do applaud them most sincerely. But I'd still like to point out a few minor details, in a spirit of constructive criticism.

I'm not a fan of inquisitive eleven-year-olds, and I'd rather not live next-door to one. CHAN That's not CHAN,  I'm begging for a decent afterlife, that's all. Adela is a charming child ... Find your own parchment, will you?
I'd rather not live next-door to a Quidditch-pitch, either. Does that mean that I should still ask Rolanda No! And do you have to use that frightful orange ink? I thought you liked orange? You looked charming ... Of all the unbearable things, Football!TRS ...
And what I do in my study is my own business. Kindly do not hang over my shoulder in order to render an (utterly fanciful) account of the notes I make in the margin of documents.  TRS!PWP of the worst kind.
I must admit, however, that I do appreciate the company you've chosen. "I mostly appreciate" might even be more accurate. Comments like these might seriously damage your health. I said, get your own parchment! You need a good beta.

Oh, and while I'm perfectly willing to admit to partaking of the occasional Vodka Shot  in the company of a fellow Head of House (the stuff' isn't a par on Ogden's Old, but I'm always willing to try a new potion), I most emphatically deny seducing Professor Trelawney. And Professor McGonagall would like to add that Lockheart should be so lucky.

But generally speaking, Dear Authors, your stories are a delight. Keep up the good work. And if you ever see a stuffed rhinoceros in an antiques shop, don't buy it.
You're only saying that because Alastor  That will do!

Day 9 Favorite Hogwarts Professor.
Day 10 Dead character you want to bring back most.
Day 11 House you would be in.
Day 12 Hogwarts subject you would most like to take.
Day 13 Spell you wish you could work without a wand.
Day 14 Thoughts on fanart (+ A favorite fanart).
Day 15 Favorite movie.
Day 16 Least favorite movie.
Day 17 Books vs. films.
Day 18 A part of the books/movies that makes you cry.
Day 19 Favorite 'ship(s).
Day 20 Your favorite villain.
Day 21 Favorite location.
Day 22 Thoughts on wizard rock.
Day 23 Character you think you are most like.
Day 24 Horcruxes vs. Hallows?
Day 25 Something you wish JKR had written about more.
Day 26 Marauders vs. Snape.
Day 27 The Invisibility Cloak, The Resurrection Stone or The Elder Wand.
Day 28 The Next Generation.
Day 29 How have you participated in the fandom over the years?
Day 30 In general, the effects of Harry Potter on your life.

Ah, now I know what I've missed those five days. Thank you for providing a fix so soon! And Oranje!Minerva is adorable, as is Lavender!Snape.

[identity profile] therealsnape.livejournal.com 2010-08-06 02:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Lavender!Snape! You're so right, and it's at least a form of justice. Really, why don't they just get their own LJ's?

And welcome home to you! We've missed you. How was the Cottage by the Lake?

[personal profile] tetleythesecond 2010-08-06 02:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Simply marvellous! As was the lake by the cottage. Brace for picspam.

Brace for picspam.
Can't wait.

My dear friend: you really need Occlumency-lessons - but somehow I doubt Snape will want to teach you *LOL*! To have your computer hacked by a witch while you are not at home is one thing (it was a witch, wasn't it, I fail to remember the details), but to have the object of your undying infatuation taking over while you are working.... *gg*

PS: I am feeling completely stupid, but I don't get CHAN (what did I miss ?!?)

[identity profile] therealsnape.livejournal.com 2010-08-06 02:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't get CHAN (what did I miss ?!?)
In my fic The Rules, Snape and Minerva play a game with doodles in the margin of Order Minutes. Snape says Minerva can't use Sybil!PWP (as in Prattling without Point) since S. never has a point. And Minerva says that someone who complains about CHildren being ANnoying has no business being a teacher.

All of which is the truth pure and simple. Whatever hackers may say.

to have the object of your undying infatuation taking over while you are working.... *gg* Thank you for the (almost believable) sympathy. To add insult to injury, I can't remember a single thing about it!

[identity profile] minervas-eule.livejournal.com 2010-08-06 02:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, now I remember !! Right! One of the "rules" !

[identity profile] queen-of-snapes.livejournal.com 2010-08-06 03:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I most emphatically deny seducing Professor Trelawney.
Aaaaw, the self-confidence is still a bit bruised... *pats hand*

[identity profile] therealsnape.livejournal.com 2010-08-06 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
He still applauds your fic, don't worry!

[identity profile] queen-of-snapes.livejournal.com 2010-08-06 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh I hope so! Otherwise I'll actually write down some of the things floating around my mind, and seducing Trelawney fades in comparison to most of it.

[identity profile] kellychambliss.livejournal.com 2010-08-06 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
He did look charming. Totally. In the Snapewickian sense, of course.

Oh, and Severus? Minerva is right (of course). You do need a good beta. And you simply can't do better than me; I have the testimonials to prove it. So feel free to send your own stories to me any time.

*sticks tongue out at rest of flist -- nyah, nyah. I asked first.*

[identity profile] therealsnape.livejournal.com 2010-08-06 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
He'll probably take you up on the offer. And don't bother with testimonials; the literary polish, elegance, and maturity of that last line speak volumes.

Love the Snapewickian sense.

I adore this!

Dear Prof. Snape!

Prof. McGonagall is right, you did indeed look charming in orange. You should wear it more often. It has come to my ears that Ms Skeeter has taken a liking to orange, too. As has Madam Pomfrey, in a way. Maybe you and Prof. McGonagall, Ms Skeeter and Madam Pomfrey should have dinner together some day. Black and white and orange is just the perfect combination, don't you think so?

Sincerely,
a fan

[identity profile] therealsnape.livejournal.com 2010-08-06 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
That dinner sounds like a most viable option.
I can think of a proper location or two, and I might add a few touches of white to the usual billowing robes.

[identity profile] the-winterwitch.livejournal.com 2010-08-06 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
*looool* That was brilliant! How do you do it that your account always gets hijacked by the most interesting people?

And that is an amazing line: such an excellent remedy against The Last Page Blues. In fact, were we to have signatures at LJ and DW, I would alternate between lines of my flisties thougths on fanfic now.
