I'm so happy for my USA friends, and so happy for us in Europe, too.

The Senate still hangs in the balance, but this is a rare bit of good news. Now if he would just go off someplace by himself, sulk, and shut the fuck up.

Thank you, my dear! I can still barely take it in. I feel like those people in adventure movies who are hauled back from the brink of a cliff at the last second before they hurtle over. Wow.

Thank you for being so happy for us! ♥ I'm still having a hard time believing it's real and easing up on the stress reactions. This is the first thing to be genuinely happy about I've experienced in a long time. I really hope that when it comes to the democratic way of life we take to heart Alastor Moody's cry of "Constant vigilance!"

This morning I suddenly found myself thinking of that teenage boy of his, and feeling sorry for him. What a god-awful example to have around. If that kid doesn't end completely screwed-up it's a miracle. Never mind the money, I'm sorry for a kid born in that poisoned environment.

Isn't it amazing? I still check the polls occasionally, just to see that it's real. And because clicking the refresh button is a habit I'll need to get out of.

Let's hope for better times now, although it'll be a difficult job!
