It's from 2018, he made a two-week trip to Yellowstone Park then. I'm considering this one for this year's RL Christmas card, given the response it gets here. Yellowstone will keep me in Christmas cards for years to come.

It is an absolutely stunning photo: the golden coulour is so unexpected in a winter landscape…. and the small turquoise ponds <3
He must have been quite high up on some spot to be able to take the photo; I never saw something like it.

It's taken from an airplane. A small one, they had rented it to take pictures like this. (Not that the others were quite as good as he, she said proudly.)
